I feel bad for Steve Phillips

Because he has to sit next to these 2 fools every Sunday the Sox play the Yanks. Being up in New Hampshire, EEI's signal doesn't reach my house that well, there must be a bridge in the way or something, so I'm forced to listen to Dumb and Dumberest there while the Sox get their taints handed to them again. I'm sure this is the time when everyone wants to hear some profound words or at least something halfway amusing but I just don't know f*cking know. Going in 2 1/2 back and leaving 6 1/2 back and now tied for the Wild Card (which I think is too early to talk about so I never will again) really, for lack of a better word, sucks. I don't know how they're going to do it, but the boys just have to put that sh*tshow behind them and find a way to win. Get the hell out of New York, go home, have some of the wife's "home cooking" and then start tearing the teams apart in a way that will make the Yankees fear the next time The Sox show up on the schedule... which is in 2 weeks. By then, I say they're only 3 back and that series is going to be THE series this year.

Yup, it was painful watching Dumb and Dumberest, except when they had Tiante on, although I didn't understand much of what HE said....at one point in 8th inning, I was dazed with the glint of, dare I say, hope when Victah Martini hit the HR. But that was gone in 10 minutes, when the roar of Yankee contempt filled the air....but really, we almost won 2 of those games. Beckett was on; Lester was on. Buchholz wasn't stinky either. These were very typical Sox/Yankees games, very close. Until Bard.....but it's over until the next time. Let's hope Theo has something better up his dastardly sleeve....What's up with Bard anyway?? The kid's too young! He gets wicked rattled in these high pressure games! I'd have put 'em away....1, 2, 3....

Bard will come around. He knows he's got the stuff it's just a matter of locating that high cheese he puts out there. The Sox were at their worst and the Yanks were at their best. That first game was bad but the others they were in striking distance and just couldn't get the hit or the hold they needed. Now they'll just bring the pain to the Tigers and make up for 4 games of misery.
